Piyawara
Initiated in 2002, the Piyawara programme was launched in partnership with the Children’s Secretariat of the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs. The programme aims to enrich the lives of underprivileged children of Sri Lanka by focusing on key aspects within the framework of ECCD. We have currently incorporated 63+ schools and continue to grow. Piyawara is managed by the Hemas Outreach Foundation (www.hemasoutreach.com) and stands today as a successful initiative, a sustainable and ongoing project by Hemas and the Children’s Secretariat, demonstrating the success of government – private sector partnerships in addressing national issues and creating strong communities.

Our Vision
Impact the lives of 1 Million families in Sri Lanka through “Healthful Living” by 2025
Our Mission
To nurture young children with good care in order to provide a SOLID FOUNDATION for a life long journey

Ayati
Ayati Trust Sri Lanka is a charitable trust incorporated between the University of Kelaniya, a state university in Sri Lanka and Hemas Holdings and MAS Holdings. Disability includes mental and physical disabilities. Children with disabilities have individual, innate strengths and talent through which they can contribute positively to society. It is with this understanding that Ayati (meaning ‘Hope’ in Sanskrit) was setup, to help improve their quality of life and independence, and provide them with the opportunity to develop and blossom into their full potential. This will help these children become included into mainstream society and have a significant impact on their lives, their families and society at large

Our Aims
Ayati is a long term national initiative which has three main aims.
Constructing and operating a National Centre for children with disabilities
Changing the mindset of the public to eliminate any stigma and promote acceptance of children with disabilities
Extending the services to the rural areas of Sri Lanka in time to come

Say Yes to Life
Sri Lanka is experiencing a rapid increase in the number of people with diabetes mellitus (DM) due to population growth and ageing. Physician shortages, outdated technology, and insufficient health education have contributed to the difficulties associated with managing the disease. New models of chronic disease management are needed to address the increasing prevalence of diabetes.
As a programme to create awareness and support for the early management of diabetes, our group purpose initiative “Say Yes to Life” aims to create awareness and assistance in the early management of diabetes in our communities.
This initiative brings in Med-Tech aid with a dedicated website and an AI powered chatbot, which takes the lead in educating people about diabetes prevention, nutrition, self-care and management, encouraging and inspiring individuals and families to make healthier choices in how they live, and keep NCD’s at bay.
